ABOUT ROBERT E. STEVENSON

Artist, Photographer & Conservationist

Born in St Andrews, Scotland in 1968. In the last few years, Robert rediscovered his childhood love of the outdoors. This time, armed with a Nikon D810, a 500mm Telephoto lens, 30 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur and award winning career as video game artist & designer.

Ever since Robert's first birding experience he has been hooked. It re-connected him with nature and made him feel inspired, present and mindful. He felt both calm yet energized. His passion is to capture evocative moments through photographing birds that he finds unique and compelling. He loves to blend fine art with photography using acrylics or digital painting. By merging these mediums he’s able to create a more unique and personal landscape.

In addition, Robert is an active investor, advisor and on the board of two important charitable groups, Exceptional Minds & Charity Water.

WHY THE NAME "FLOCK"?

“Flock” is a word that refers to a group of birds, yet the imagery in the Flock logo represents one single Red Winged Blackbird. The first time Robert went birding with his friend Adam, he spotted a bird (pictured above) with shocking red shoulders and a unique flight style. Despite it being a common bird in Northern California, he had never noticed it, even after 20 years of living in the area. From that day on, he started noticing this bird everywhere. He couldn’t unsee it.

The Red Winged Blackbird represents Flock’s mission to share the invisible world and to open people's eyes to the often overlooked beauty around us.
